The novel presents the history of Serbs from the Sarajevo assassination of Prince Ferninad, until a few years after the Second World War.
In his thoughts, the main character Milutin, an ordinary peasant from the village of Kostunic, from Sumadija. Opens a series of questions that indicate the meaninglessness of the war. His thoughts point us to the fact that in war, both winners and losers are losers.
